Artist Residencies in the Time of Black Lives Matter

Artist Residencies in the Time of Black Lives Matter

About this Event

What can artists and art managers do to support the struggles of the BLM Movement and work towards a more accessible and inclusive art system? How can we all support black art and artists globally?

If you want to find out more, join the conversation between Yinka Shonibare CBE (RA), artist and founder of G.A.S. Foundation, and Lisa Funderburke Hoffman, Executive Director, Alliance of Artists Communities. You will have the opportunity to ask your questions and engage with the speakers!

Res Artis, the largest network of art residencies in the world, and IASPIS, the Swedish Arts Grants Committee's International Programme for Visual and Applied Artists, with the support of Creative Victoria, are offering you a series of five webinars titled ”Residencies in Challenging Times”.

The webinars will focus on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the arts and culture and on how art organisations have been responding to it. We will also discuss how artist residencies can be better equipped for the future, as well as on how they are contributing to overcome some of the most prominent societal challenges at the moment, such as the fight against racism and inequalities, and climate change.
