The Baldwin Institute is a Brooklyn-based nonprofit dedicated to advancing literacy, creativity, and critical thinking among young people across New York City. Inspired by the life and legacy of James Baldwin, we create educational third spaces—outside of home and school—where students are empowered to explore their curiosities, engage the arts, and access the tools they need to thrive. Through culturally grounded programming and community-centered resources, the Baldwin Institute is helping build a more just, imaginative, and Baldwin-informed future.
